As a customer service advisor in the Business Development Center at Bruce Auto Group an average day consisted of making and receiving upwards of 75 customer phone calls per day to schedule service and maintenance appointments. Part of this process involved coordination of appointments across multiple business locations and departments. My job required me to educate customers on different services that are performed and the importance of them. I was responsible for knowledge of service costs and selling customers on the value of regular vehicle maintenance. I was also responsible for advising customers of safety recalls on their vehicles and taking proper action to ensure the recall is dealt with in a timely fashion. Appointment booking also consisted of addressing customer concerns including vehicle diagnostics and repairs. I was responsible for arranging loaner vehicles, shuttles, and vehicle pick ups for customers across multiple locations. Some of these arrangements involved long-distance pick ups from locations that were hours away. Depending on the type of appointment I was booking, I was responsible for coordinating maintenance and vehicle cleanings on the same day at different locations. I was responsible for effectively communicating with coworkers face-to-face, through telephone, and through email to provide the best service to our customers. This was to make sure that all aspects of customer appointments were appropriately handled including ordering parts, transportation, effective scheduling, and confirmation of appointments. While this was a customer service role it was also a highly competitive sales environment. I had personal daily and monthly goals in regard to appointments and customer contacts. I was also responsible for maintaining call quality by following specific standards. I continuously exceeded my sales and appointment targets by efficiently educating customers about vehicle maintenance and repair.
