Faculty Chair, Physical Science DepartmentRio Salado College Sep 2007 - Sep 2013Tempe, Az, UsAfter successfully serving as an Adjunct Faculty Member and then as Residential Faculty in College's Biology department, I was asked to take a leadership role to launch this new Physical Science Department.Upon the successful launch of the department, I was subsequently promoted to Department Chair with full authority over curriculum development, adjunct professor staffing, program management, and student support for the new Physical Science, Sustainability, Food and Nutrition, and Sustainable Foods programs.⭐ Achievements in this role include:➠ Built and grew the department to 6,000 students and 100+ instructors.➠ Launched the state's first online science lab program.➠ Developed the curriculum that served as the foundation for the state’s first Associate of Applied Science degree in Sustainable Foods Systems and a Certificate of Completion within the same subject.➠ Executed a variety of committee appointments, including Assessment of Student Learning, Development Team, Leadership Council, eBooks, RioLearn Version 8 Core Team, and RioLearn Version 8 Mobile Sub-team and external appointments that included the Maricopa District Instructional Council and numerous State Articulation Committees.➠ Co-principal Investigator for the National Science Foundation Grant and Science Teacher Participation Program. -
