I'm currently providing one on one consulting services for individuals and businesses. A majority of this work is online but onsite visits can also be arranged depending on location and schedule. Each consulting session is tailored to each clients' individual needs. Some clients only need a single "Ask me anything" session while others require full evaluations of properties, businesses and vacation rentals. Services: - "Ask me anything" sessions - Real estate evaluations - Vacation rental evaluation and assistance- Hospitality business consultant (problem solving, organization, documentation, staff training, etc.)- Permaculture and sustainable tourism is at the heart of all my consulting sessions. With my permaculture design certificate I also consult on landscaping, gardening and training/teaching for gardening team members.

EcoVida is located in Costa Rica and was started in 2007. Over the years it has included many different branches and projects. Currently I do all the bookkeeping, bill payments and tax reporting for this company but I was originally asked to evaluate the viability of this business and find way to improve it. After evaluating all possible options it was decided that closing the business was the only option for the current owners who both wished to retire. I assisted with all aspects of the closure and helped to negotiate a lease of the building with a purchase option. This was a very complicated and time consuming project but some of the tasks included: - Preparing the business and property for a sale - Communicating and coordinating with the owners and employees. - Arranging the real estate contract, listing and showings - Reviewing financial statements and improving bookkeeping- Converting the business from Quickbooks desktop to Quickbooks Online.- Organizing a plan for debt consolidation and payments- Evaluate fixed assets and coordinate the sale of all assets- Negotiating the lease with a purchase option- Assisting with legal, accounting and other issues.

In this role I gained skills and experience in:- Typing and computer skills- Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word- Banking, bill payments and tax filings

We originally started this branch of our company because there were no other options in our area. This property management branch grew quickly and at the peak was employing 7 full-time team members and had 30+ clients with various levels of services provided. Once other similar businesses developed in our area and could provide the same services, we closed this branch to focus on other projects. Some of the tasks that I was responsible for: - Managing employees and contractors - Payroll, scheduling and HR- Customer service for home owners and renters (long term and short term). - Bill payments and invoicing- Planning and managing repairs, maintenance and home improvements- Reviewing and preparing homes for vacation rentals (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.)- Staging, photography and creation of vacation rental listings on online platforms (Airbnb)- Created procedures and documentation needed for the operation of the property management branch- Organized concierge services for rental clients. This included booking tours and activities.- Marketing and advertising

I have always had a passion for helping people so I was initially drawn to a career in the medical field. I studied and trained to be a Respiratory Therapist for 2 years at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops and then the 3rd year was a full-time practicum in three hospitals in Vancouver. I was offered a full-time position at my last practicum rotation, St. Paul's. As an RRT at St. Paul's Hospital I worked shifts on the wards and also in Emergency, ICU, and CSICU. I not only gain experience as a RRT but I also gained experience:- Working in a fast moving and high stress environment- Helping people of all ages both as a service provider and team member- Recording accurate charting and notes- Problem solving
