I'm Shannon, co-founder and attorney at New Leaf Legal. I specialize in all things entertainment and arts-law related, trademark and copyright (registration, enforcement, buying/selling and licensing), and socially-minded corporate structuring and non-profit organizations. As an entertainment and arts attorney, my goal is to act as a conduit between creatives and the "business" side of their industries, helping artists, small businesses and entrepreneurs understand the legal sides of their businesses and make sound business decisions as they build tier company and their brand. In 2009, my business partner, Jessica Manganello, and I decided to pursue our own paths in the legal field, so we formed New Leaf Legal. What is New Leaf? New Leaf serves solely emerging businesses, entrepreneurial venture, and creatives, addressing a variety of legal needs from corporate and business law to intellectual property. Despite the stereotype, lawyers CAN be entrepreneurs, which we proudly are, and so it's only natural that we serve them!(On a personal note, I just need to put out there that I LOVE my job, and my firm. Very few lawyers can say that, I think. I feel so lucky to have pursued this path.)
