I’ve always enjoyed engaging with people. Starting with my first job in retail, I was hooked on interacting with the public and gravitated toward jobs that fulfill this requirement. My experiences have taken me to the other side of the world. During my university studies, I had a paid internship at the United States Consulate in Leipzig, Germany. After graduating from the University of Washington, I moved back to Germany to work as a free-lance language instructor. I ran a successful language and cultural business until 2011 when I decided to move back to the United States. A few months later, I co-founded SMI Commissioning, a Building Commissioning firm. Starting a business from the ground up (twice) is always a wonderful learning experience. Currently, I am working in HR Business Systems. I partner closely with IT and the business to drive improvement in our HR systems. This has allowed me to broaden my knowledge and skills in project management, leadership, collaboration, and Workday. I enjoy networking and getting to know people in new fields and industries.
