Shanone holds a BSc in Biological and Environmental Sciences and a postgraduate degree in education from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Beginning his career in Wrexham's voluntary sector, he focused on environmental advocacy, quality assurance of accredited training, and green skills development. Describing himself as 'always championing the underdog' Shanone is now a co-founder and director of the local award-winning business, Litegreen, a leader in PAS2035 retrofit compliance and energy efficiency services for domestic and commercial buildings in North Wales.In addition to his role at Litegreen, Shanone serves as a co-director of the Litegreen Foundation CIC, a Wrexham-based community interest company nominated recently for 'Social Enterprise Award ' for assisting people facing energy and cost-of-living crises with impartial expert advice, and empowering people to make informed decisions about securing energy efficiency grants for their homes, before donating the profits straight back to the community. An industry first.Shanone plays crucial roles at Litegreen, supporting the skills development, compliance, policy, and quality of large scale retrofit schemes for clients such as Local Authorities, Social Housing, Welsh Government and partner organisations across sectors. This diverse background has enabled him to continuously develop the skills needed to run a successful business, navigate the private, public, and voluntary sectors, and provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities each sector presents. Shanone also lends his time, skills and experience as a Trustee on the Board of the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW), who serves as the County Voluntary Council for Wrexham, appointed by the Welsh Government to support all voluntary sector organisations in the county with their continued growth and success.
