Since earning her MEd and serving as an educator in the New Orleans public charter school system, Shante's commitment to social justice evolved and expanded to include broader systems change. She has helped to develop and implement a research methodology that worked to address and disrupt power dynamics in order to build a more equitable world for women and girls. She co-authored “Addressing Capital’s Effects on Racial Justice: How Investments Drive Injustice and What Investor’s Can Do About It”. She also served as a media specialist for Canada’s largest climate finance justice campaign, and most recently, led communications and digital marketing for a non-profit DEI consulting firm.
