Shante Ruffin, J.D. Email and Phone Number
I am an associate attorney at HunterMaclean. I work in the real estate practice group and am excited to learn more and thrive in this role! I earned this position by participating in HunterMaclean's summer associate program, where I conducted research and drafted memorandums on complex business-related legal issues. I attended GSU College of Law as a full-time student. I was a Graduate Research Assistant and student attorney at the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where I worked directly with underrepresented taxpayers to work toward resolving their tax discrepancies. I was involved in organizations such as the Black Law Students Association, Wellness in the Law Society, and the Tax Law Society. I volunteered for pro bono events, such as the Pro Bono Tax Settlement Day where the Clinic helped the IRS and taxpayers settle tax liabilities. During law school, I also worked at Elizabeth Gallo Court Reporting as a part-time billing specialist, where I diligently prepared invoices and effectively communicated with law firms and court reporters regarding depositions, trials, arbitrations, etc. In the past, I attended Oglethorpe University as a Business Administration major and developed critical thinking, verbal, and writing skills that furthered my professional career. My leadership skills evolved when I earned a leadership role in the National Society of Leadership and Success and encouraged members to reach their goals.Shortly after earning my BS degree, I worked at The Home Depot’s Pro Referral department, where I developed personal relationships with Home Depot customers by maintaining customer loyalty and resolving project inquiries and discrepancies. I served on the Voice of Associates committee and helped resolve employee dissatisfaction, further developing my leadership capabilities. I applied these leadership skills in training sessions with new associates to ensure they grasped the significance of top-quality customer service. In addition, I led the department's ~$1,000 donations to Covenant House and Second Helpings Atlanta.
