Being an Electrical Engineer for all this 9 years I have always remembered one thing which I have learnt from my Senior Engineer at the beginning of my career that “If you don’t feel the heartbeat of a machine, then doesn’t try to operate it”. Getting an opportunity for a fresh graduate who loved power system, to work in an 110kV substation was not less of luck. As an Operation and Maintenance Engineer I spend most of the times in studying new things surrounding me. My daily routine work range from planning operation and daily maintenance activities that has to be carried out in the sub-station and also to maintain daily log book, issuing permits to work, equipment maintenance records and manuals. But most of my interests concentrate in troubleshooting the faults and malfunctioning of equipment where we always get an opportunity to learn and grow. In my working period of 3 years and 5 months in power plant I have participated in testing and commissioning of 110kV SF6 circuit breakers, overhauling of transformers, assisted the team of relay testing and maintenance of 110kV equipment present in the yard.With this strong foundation I advanced my career to the next level with Canar Geo Survey Services, Bahrain a foreign branch of Parsan Overseas Pvt. Ltd. Being an Assistant Operations Manager directing the members in finding the underground cable network using the machine Vivax Metrotech helped me in understanding the world of detecting underground utilities. Preparation of new drawing of underground utility network, revision of as built drawings, planning and surveying of domestic electrical connection has given me knowledge in Middle Eastern networks and standards. This has leaded me to work in large projects with Bahrain Electricity and Water Authority, Bahrain Petroleum Company and also to do projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.In-between this journey I have mastered myself in Auto CAD and ETAP for designing electrical system, load flow studies, study of short circuit analysis, study of arc flash, motor acceleration and relay coordination.Through these 9 years I have learnt and evolved to be a better professional. But there is certainly yet more to learn solve and build.
