About Lior Shapira

Prof. Lior Shapira is the Betty & D Walter Cohen Professor of Periodontal Research in the Hebrew University. He is the former Chair of the Department of Periodontology and the former President of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). He serves as the Scientific Chair of EuroPerio 11, the biggest event in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry worldwide. His research focuses on dental implants, pathogenesis of periodontitis/peri-implantitis and inflammation. He published >160 scientific papers with H-index >50. His research achievements were acknowledged by several international awards, including Teva award, Rizzo award, Sunstar award, and IADR Distinguish Scientist Award.
