Who am I? A results-driven professional who brings business acumen and a customer-centric mindset to technology enabled transformations. I’m adept at navigating ambiguity and developing innovative plans in support of strategic imperatives. I have proven experience in business transformation, strategic and tactical planning, change management, business analysis, and large-scale technology implementation. I’m a natural relationship builder with the ability to partner with senior leaders and focus the efforts of cross-functional, remote teams that deliver on a global scale. I’m a fast learner with the ability to flex and quickly adapt to change.So how did I become this person? After all, I started as a Psych major with dreams of opening Ben & Jerry’s shops all over Washington, DC! There were three pivotal points in my journey that led me to where I am today:• The time I spent at Ben & Jerry’s (yes, I did fulfill my dream – sort of)• Becoming an auditor (oops) • Joining a tech-enabled business transformation program (aha!)My dream of opening my own B&J’s was dashed when I discovered someone else already had that plan (and the rights to the area). Disappointed but not dissuaded, I pursued an opportunity to work with this person and helped grow the business into the second largest franchise operation in the US. It was a great experience that made me realize 1) I didn’t have the stomach for being an entrepreneur and 2) I had a penchant for business.After earning an MBA and launching my career forecasting financials at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, I joined Deloitte as an Auditor. It made perfect sense at the time – I enjoyed crunching numbers so why not do more of it? Well it didn’t take long to realize auditing wasn’t for me. Oops. Now what?I found an internal opportunity to leverage my experience as an auditor on a tech-enabled Audit transformation project. Having never worked in tech before, my eyes were opened to a whole new world. I got to learn all aspects of the software development life cycle and apply the skills I developed previously in a completely new way. I found my sweet spot and have continued to develop in various roles with increasing responsibility, scope, and influence in Deloitte’s global technology organization ever since. Each step (and misstep) in my journey has enabled me to fill my toolbox with versatile skills and experiences that have and will continue to allow me to make impactful contributions wherever my next step takes me. Oh, the most valuable tool in my toolbox? My Psych degree sure does come in handy!
