If you learn how to learn, you'll be able to accomplish anything.Formerly, I was the youngest licensed Financial Advisor for Scotiabank, I worked hard, exceeded metrics, and took home awards with a feeling of gratitude, knowing, I was helping my clients get one step closer to their financial goals. While the experience was incredible, I knew I was not done yet. I decided I wanted to make bigger impacts, while working with some products and tailoring customer profiles I consistently pursued ways of making the client experience better. It was in those moments I started to realize, to make substantial changes for the better, I need to influence projects/products to better serve the people they are made for. This is where my curiosity for project/product management began. As a result of this newfound goal, I decided to pivot my career, and I'd start by going back to university. I enrolled in a commerce program specialized in Global Management, and in between semesters took on certifications and boot camps to consistently expand my education. In these moments, I figured out, I had inadvertently taught myself how to learn, effectively and efficiently. This is a crucial tool, many of us do unconsciously, but being aware of it has allowed me to successfully pursue more than I ever thought I could.Over the last year alone, along with full course loads (summer included), knowing how to learn has allowed me to achieve my Certificate Associate in Project Management (above target), learn HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office Suites, Power BI, Power platforms, and more!I know I'm not done learning, nor will I ever be, but my next goal is to expand my horizons to embark on positive change to better society as a whole, starting within the mental health community.
