As Quality Assurance Regional Lead for Asia, I have provided Technical Assistance to various countries related to training on Family Planning including PPIUCD and Safe abortion /Post Abortion Care, Quality assurance. I have conducted External Quality Audits and provided mentoring support to various country team, including Nepal, Myanmar, Loa PDR, Cambodia, Pakistan, India, Kenya, Tanzania, and Vietnam etc. I have successfully conducted several Regional Medical Meeting and EQA in the assigned countries.As technical adviser I was leading the technical streams of work for many projects of PSI on FP/RH, RMNCH+A and Urban Health. I was also Technical Lead for development of technical interventions for recently launched TCIHC funded jointly by Gates Foundation and USAID. As Chief of Party, I have led and managed the “Innovative Research (Proof of Concept and Randomized Control Trial) on dedicate inserter for PPIUCD” from October 2013 to October 2016. Successfully constituted a very high profile Scientific Advisory Committee and Data Safety Monitoring Board to guide the study. Partnered with several teaching institutes to work with PSI on several projects and studies. I have conducted training to PSI team, Principal Investigators, Providers and Counsellors involving didactic topics including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the project protocol, quality assurance, standard operating procedures (SOP) and post-partum family planning and insertion technique training. I was responsible for end to end management for this innovative study including program management, budget tracking, team management, donor compliance, liaison and reporting, relationship management with government and other stakeholder.

I have provided techno managerial support to the program team and technical expertise to project states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Jharkhand. Provided technical assistance for conducting site assessment of potential training sites for comprehensive abortion care (CAC) in Ipas programmatic areas. Rendered support to selected team of government master trainers for conducting site assessments, TOTs and monitoring visits with regards to CAC. Conducted TOTs at selected training sites in several states. Provided supportive supervision to the existing and new training sites for the CAC training programs as per NRHM mandate. Conducted several monitoring visits for quality assessment to training and service delivery sites. Facilitated field team in coordinating between the training sites and the district health officials for the deputation of medical officers for the second generation CAC training. I have provided technical assistance to second generation training on safe abortion held by various state governments. Provided technical input on the communication initiative rolled out by the IPAS and MOHFW-GOI on time to time basis. Acted as technical backstop for the Ipas India program and provided necessary technical assistance in expanding Ipas program in India. Contributed into the development of teaching curricula and other related courses to alternative system of medicines for expanding safe abortion. Represented Ipas at meetings, workshops and conferences as deputed. Worked as technical head for Urban Health Initiatives from Ipas side (Ipas was working for USAID supported UHI led by Family Health International). Provided technical backup for MAPnet (Program in partnership with FOGSI) for Safe Abortion. Several technical briefs, contents, Job Aids, Flip Charts, Curriculum communication packs and resources packs prepared on behalf of Ipas, MoHFW, FOGSI, and Teaching Institutes.

Provided trainings and support visits to various Health Care Professionals (HCPs) on Sexually Transmitted Infections/ Reproductive Tract Infections, Intra Uterine Devices, Medical Abortions and Post-Partum Haemorrhage under the various RH/FP, MCH projects. I was responsible for planning and conduction of training programs to Health Care Providers in the WHP network in MP & Chhattisgarh. Conducted regular support visits to HCPs and provided updates to the HCPs on latest developments. Ensured Maintenance of accurate records of visits, and sending timely data to state/regional offices. Suggested improvements in training program based on information gathered during support visits, and ensuring that the suggestions are incorporated in the training curriculum in order to enhance HCP’S learning. Identified the qualified providers and their inclusion to the network, including the initiative to include Medical colleges in the program network. Facilitated in setting up of Centre of Excellence for complication management, hand holding of network doctors and other staff. Served as point person for government liaison in the assigned states for PSI. Support provided to the State office in day to day office management, Coordinating the monthly meeting, monthly plan preparation, need-based training.

I have led the Private Sector Partnership (PSP-One), a multi country project funded by USAID on rolling out of DIMPA (an Injectable Contraceptive) in undivided UP (which also includes present UK). Managed the DIMPA network providers including doctors, their clinics, staff and supplies of DIMPA. Conducted high quality training session for Pvt and Govt. Doctors in the project cities and towns. Facilitated TOT for paramedics. Supported and developed modules for training of Doctors and Paramedics, screening guidelines, self-assessment tool for Quality Improvement, Job-Aids and Follow-up/ theme based support visits to Network Doctors. Provided individual follow up support to all network clinics so as to ensure that all clinics/facilities were carrying out balanced provision of contraceptives, adhering the WHO guidelines in prescribing Contraceptives, Offering Counselling before and during contraceptive usages, maintenance of Proper records of Contraceptive uptakes. Created Exchange Forum to share best practices. Overall Managed states and field team in UP.

Jaipur And Lucknow

As consultant UNICEF, Launched IMNCI first in the entire country in the two district of Rajasthan. Govt of India along with WHO and UNICEF adapted IMCI for India context and UNICEF was asked to roll out this in trial basis. I was point person to lead this from UNICEF. I also led the setting up of model sub health centre in select district of Rajasthan which government of India subsequently adapted as best practices. I have also provided technical input for successful conduction of Immunization weeks, & NID/SNIDs in order to catch up the left out children/ 100% coverage in the assigned geographies. Supported districts in implementing Bi-Annual Strategy of Vitamin-A supplementation. Provided technical inputs in order to enhance the capability of various NGOs working in the field of RI, VAS, Nutritional supplementation & Community awareness on education. Similarly, many religious bodies especially for underserved community were integrated in decision making procedures in order to enhance the community participation. Prepared Urban RI strengthen program in collaboration with health and Local NGOs. Conducted Training of MOs and support staff in collaboration with Medical Collage Kota under Basic Obstetric Care.
