The past year, during my time at Cornell, I have had the opportunity to learn about various fields like Stem Cell Bioengineering, Genomics, Innovation in Biomedical Engineering and Lean Operations, Product Management, Entrepreneurship and Cell & Biomaterial Engineering through my courses.I am currently a research assistant in the Kurpios Lab where I study gut development. The past experience was in Dr. Ladher's lab at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, India where I worked on the development of the otic placode and morphogen gradients guiding it. During undergraduation, I spent my summers working as an intern at Merck Pharmaceuticals and National Centre for Biological Sciences and did my undergraduate thesis at Centre for Stem Cell Research where I worked on CRISPR aided gene therapy for sickle cell anaemia and thalesemia. I also spent my winters organising two research conferences.I love the energy exchange involved in artistic collaboration. I have been a part of a theatre production house - Litterbox Productions and also a part of the theatre group at NCBS. I'm trained in Indian classical music and have been a part of music club at NCBS and SPIC-MACAY, Cornell chapter. After going through phases where I've researched independently and working by collaboration, I have come to realise that I am interested in both the scientific aspects of a product as well as business aspects. Apart from this, I enjoy swimming, painting, exploring various cuisines, building new skills and learning new things. In short I'm enthusiastic and passionate about almost anything.
