Validating the AMG bumper design to satisfy pedestrian safety standard regulations defined by Global Technical Regulation (GTR) and New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Low-speed crash simulation to satisfy ECR-R42 and USA part-581. Pedestrian safety including lower-leg simulation, upper-leg simulation, and head impact simulation. Pedestrian detection sensor simulation for AMG bumpers.- Bumper CAD data from SWAN is converted to FE model (CAE) using ANSA and Hypermesh.- Performing bumper connections, material assignment, and contact definition, adhesive connections on FE model and integrating with full vehicle.- Configurations of bumper for different markets like Europe, Japan, USA, China, and Korea.- Lower leg positioning is done using Generator, that gives a CSV file for further simulation.- XML code is used to submit the runs.- Pedestrian detection sensor simulation and small animal detection sensor simulation for active bonnet mechanism.- Low-speed crash analysis with pendulam simulation is performed using JASS process.- Post-processing of the results using Animator and Midas-viewer to check the design requirement.- Modification of bumper parts to satisfy the design requirement based on engineering judgement.- Discuss the results with counter parts using MS Office tools.- Validating simulation with hardware test results for better understanding and future requirements.
