Social Insurance Specialist
CurrentOn own initiative, as assigned, analyzes systems used in adjudicative decision-making for claims; post-entitlement events; earnings records data maintenance; representative payee changes, accounting and misuse; and beneficiary representative (attomey/non-attomey) input to ensure current and timely processing.Monitors work processes through the routine review of listings, holding files, screening operations, folderless processing methods, systems utilization, etc. Resolves problems and/or inconsistencies independently or by recommending corrective action or methods of improvement. Provides regular, periodic feedback to supervisors. Ensures the resolution of processing problems and/or issues for which procedure is conflicting, insufficient or unclear by utilizing own expertise, by consulting with technical experts or by referral of issue to operations analysts or supervisors. Initiates and/or responds to telephone and telecommunication inquiries from field office personnel, Railroad Retirement Board (RRB), HCFA, financial institutions, State and local governmental agencies, attorney/beneficiary representatives, beneficiaries and the general public.
