I am the founder and president of Share My Smile, a non-profit organization that supports foster and adoptive families. Our mission is to lend a hand to others so that they may smile a true, honest, and happy smile. Our vision is to grow and develop our program so that we can best support our families and to further encourage other individuals to become foster/adoptive families as well.

I conducted interviews of both potential volunteers/mentors (Bigs) and potential mentees (Littles) and their parents. I evaluated their appropriateness for the program and conducted assessments that are accurate and concise. I worked on a team of individuals to match Bigs and Littles together and prepare their files to be passed on to their match support specialist. I learned a vast amount of problem solving skills from this position and increased my cultural competency greatly. I enjoyed meeting a variety of individuals and it was very fulfilling to see matches become successful!

I worked as a family support worker for youth on juvenile probation. I worked closely with the youth, their parent(s), the probation officer, the courts/judge, therapists, and other agencies that may have been involved in individual cases (such as CPS and IFP). My job was to provide support to the youth and the families to help them meet their goals of probation while also helping the family reach and/or maintain stability within the home. I further was responsible for providing detailed and accurate case notes and reports for each client.

I served as a Youth Worker from February 2013-October 2013 at which time I moved to the campus school to continue employment with Children's Square as a Para for a teacher in a math classroom. I went on maternity leave February 2014 and decided to stay home with my son; this school dissolved shortly after my departure. I resumed work with Children's Square May 2014 part-time until I accepted a position in July at Community Options as a Family Support Worker.
