    The Azure Migration Lead key responsibilities are:DISCOVERY:- Identify on-premises infrastructure, applications, and dependencies.- Use tools like Azure Migrate, RVTools (VMware), Microsoft Assessment and Planning toolkit (MAP), Azure Service Map to perform discovery of on-remises VMware, Hyper-V and Physical VMs and collect server configuration information, performance metadata, application data, application and server network connection data, and application data via these tools, including Configuration Management Database exports (CMDB).- Identify workloads for migration to Azure, and gather optimized cost projections.ASSESSMENT:- Evaluate technical compatibility, architecture, and performance/sizing options.- Use migration tools and application owner interviews to assess workloads/applications and integration touchpoint dependencies.- Analyze applications to determine the risk and complexity of each workload, method, and recommend migration target outcomes.- Assess the readiness of on-premises resources to migrate, right-sizing for optimal performance and Azure costs.MIGRATION:- Deliver a High-Level Design document, Communication Plan and Matrixes, and project Change Management plan including a T-minus schedule from pre-migration through post-migration tasking.- Develop, deliver, and execute a Migration Detailed Design plan, including the monitoring and data migration planning- Manage migration of: - replicating on-premises resources to Azure, - pre-migration server level checks, - report/coordinate correction/mitigation of blocking issues, - schedule migration process checks/tasks, - review post-migration server level validation, - coordinate issue remediation and final acceptance of migrated systems to Azure.REPORT on COSTS and BILLING:- These responsibilities require a solid understanding of the existing infrastructure and Azure infrastructure services cost structures and optimization planning.
