Shari Chambers, Director of Special Projects for the Department of Community Supervision, has more than twenty years of government and industry sector experience in project management and program administration. She began her career with the State of Georgia in 2011 in the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development (GOWD) as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director where she served as the department’s human resources administrator and managed the State Workforce Investment Board, which is responsible for the oversight of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act for the State of Georgia. In 2014, Shari served as Operations Manager for the Georgia Department of Economic Development where she managed the Workforce Division’s central office operations.In 2015, Shari joined the Department of Community Supervision where she served as Executive Assistant to the Executive Operations Division. In this role, Shari worked closely with the Department of Community Supervision’s General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer, Director of Strategic Planning, Director of Government Relations, Director of Public Affairs, and Director of Professional Standards. Shari also served as the department’s liaison to the Governor’s Office of Transition, Support, and Reentry and the Georgia Commission on Family Violence. As the Director of Special Projects for the Department of Community Supervision, Shari is responsible for overseeing statewide projects for executive leadership, field operations, and field services.Shari holds a dual Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Marketing from Illinois State University’s College of Business. She is a member of the Georgia Professional Association of Community Supervision.
