Informed Opinions is a national, non-profit initiative, working to bridge the gender gap in Canadian public discourse by 2025. We amplify women's voices through our expert database, making it easier for journalists to find them. We build women's leadership, training and supporting knowledgeable women to share their ideas more broadly as through media. As founder and catalyst, I develop and deliver keynotes and workshops that have helped more than two thousand women find their voices and write and publish or deliver commentary in influential media across the country.

Nora Ephron struck a chord with I Feel Bad about My Neck but I set out to counter the supposed downhill slide by inviting notable women from across Canada to provide an alternative perspective.I Feel Great about My Hands is a collection of stories, essays and poems embracing the changes, discoveries and wisdom that come with age. Karen Kain applauded the collection's "humour and poignancy", calling it "a wonderful read."

Provided strategic communications advice for Premier Ujjal Dosanjh; managed his media relations, facilitating journalists' access; acted as a spokesperson for and wrote or edited speaking notes, press releases and other public statements.

Developed curriculum for and taught media analysis and applied communications courses in the School of Communications, Education faculty, Business and Liberal Studies program and Women’s Studies department.

Developed and taught curriculum for business writing and presentation courses for students in programs including accounting, computing, design, personal care work, turf management, floristry.

Chaired the board of directors; delivered hundreds of media literacy presentations to diverse audiences; developed and led content analysis, media monitoring and audience research projects; wrote and/or delivered dozens of print and broadcast commentaries on the social impacts of media; appeared before the CRTC as an expert witness on issues related to the social impacts of media and broadcasting policy.

Wrote a weekly column called "Making Connections" on the editorial pages covering primarily social issues, women's issues and media. Learned how to deal with hate mail, and to understand what a privilege it was to send a memo to 350,000 potential readers through a respected platform once a week.

Created the concept for and co-produced a 13-part television series called Doubletake about women and the media

Developed and implemented multi-faceted strategic communications plans for a wide range of corporate, government and non-profit clients, delivering media interview skills training, generating media attention to new product launches, and managing complex special events.
