I am a psychotherapist in private practice since 1990. My own infertility experiences, including eight IVF procedures to finally get my two sons have, of course, impacted all areas of my life, not the least of which is my professional focus on the emotional aspects of infertility. Over the past 15 years, I have worked extensively with women and couples who are struggling to conceive. My goals include the desire to lessen the trauma of infertility to women, their marriages, and their extended relationships; to challenge the unnecessary shame and isolation; to lighten the emotional burden so that couples don't abandon their dream and their rights to become parents. Blending insights from my own infertility with skills developed through working professionally with hundreds of infertile couples, I co-authored a guidebook entitled "Do You Love Someone Who Is Infertile?" Through this book, my public speaking, networking with all sides of the Assisted Reproductiion Treatment community, and through my web site I am touching the emotional lives of an ever growing number of the 1 out of 7 couples who confront infertility.Specialties: Psychotherapy with infertile women and couples, exploration of available options with childless couples, and writing and public speaking on conquering the emotional/relational/spiritual obstacles to conception.
