My education career began in 2010 as a 3rd grade teacher in the Hazelwood School District. In 2012, I moved to the Wentzville School District where I began teaching English Language Arts to 6th graders. I continued in this role until 2018 when I moved to an 8th grade English Languages Arts position. Throughout 2012 to 2018 I served on many curriculum committees including a committees that wrote our entire 6th grade curriculum. During this time, I also became familiar with many resources within the classroom. In 2018, I became the reading interventionist at the middle school that I taught English Language Arts. During this time, I became familiar with different testing applications and many resources used to better my student's reading skills. In 2020, I took a position as an elementary reading specialist. In this role I was trained in Orton Gillingham and continue to use OG along with many other Science of Reading based strategies.
