My experience is in managing community projects, by way of organizing adolescent and adult populations. I am a grassroots advocate for social justice. I spearhead community needs assessments and speak on behalf of, and alongside, the voiceless to impact practices and policies and to honor a human's right to dignity and worth. I like to best support progress through purposeful and conscious dialogue with all stakeholders, so I advocate for both groups and individuals as a mental health professional and as a writer. I help structure narratives so that when others share their stories they are told from a place of strength and security. I have found strength and security crafting stories from a filmmaking perspective. The collaborative nature of filmmaking necessitates that people learn from one another and I want to build something great with my community. I tackle cultural and institutional issues in my stories with an air of healthy skepticism given my journalistic background. I credit my work as a server in the food and beverage industry for my interpersonal skills, my work ethic, and my implementation of the motto: Service above self. I am actively seeking a transition in my career at this time.
