As the volunteer coordinator, I actively supervised all unpaid staff, who helped the library by cleaning, shelving, and doing special projects for the library as needed. I worked mainly with teenage volunteers, as our county requires volunteer hours in the high schools. I did outreach as well. As a library worker, I worked at the front circulation desk helping patrons find items, assisted with computer questions, and did research as needed. In the back office, I answered phones and was in charge of booking the community room, which included payments and the setting up of equipment. I also dealt with damaged items that came into our branch.

I only left this job because we moved to Temecula, CA. For the short time that I managed this branch, I supervised one employee and two volunteer workers. I was responsible for storytime and class visits. I also handled the Summer Reading Program, integrated new materials into the library, and worked with the Friends of the Library to make sure my branch had what it needed to be an active and integral part of the community.

I worked from home, transcribing audio from a variety of sources into text. After transcribing the audio, I was then required to format, proofread, and research the transcription to ensure a quality document was being sent to the clients.
