Many moms are exhausted just being a mom, but when you add in a life threatening illness such as cancer you begin to lose all sense of self, of balance and sometimes even hope. A self-care retreat allows moms to step back and reconnect not just with themselves but other moms going through a similar journey. They will experience art therapy, massage, nutritional classes, yoga and more. Our hope is they will leave inspired, empowered and connected with other moms to want to stay connected with each other and to raise awareness in the world of pediatric cancer.Duties• Acquire retreat center for various retreats nationally throughout the year• Personnel Management: Establish, maintain, and supervise the facilitators and house moms in accordance to Momcologys volunteer guidelines.• Financial Management and Business Planning: Developed an operational budget to meet the requirements of the strategic and operations plans, and then have full responsibility for all spending within the approved budget. Additionally, provided to the Board of Directors full and timely reports on the financial condition of the retreats concerning budgeted operations and the resources and costs of special projects.• Fund Raising: Along with the Board of Directors and BE Director will raise funds to maintain and see growth of annual retreats.• Marketing: Developed and implemented marketing strategies to increase and maintain retreats• Other duties as assigned by the Board.

Created and developed a restorative self-care retreat program for mothers of children diagnosed with Pediatric Cancer. Partnered with local community members to establish a funding base and build the program to two retreats per year in the Portland Metro area. Networked with local pediatric cancer non profits to build a network of moms for the retreat program. Established a 501c3 partnership with a local non profit to build upon the financial foundation of the program.
