He transitioned from teams of generalists to specialists, adding product management, program management, test engineering, design/UX, DevOps and data science. He led the transition from a single tenant LAMP application to a PCI-compliant, multi tenant, service-oriented architecture while adding 3k customers per month, improving SLAs and reducing cost per customer.As a hands-on member of the data science team, Soren authored data products in R and Python for capacity estimation, cost optimization, fraud detection, forecasting and churn prediction.

It combines usability, enterprise scale and extensibility: it has been customized and deployed for web-based communities, sales extranets, deal-flow collaboration, innovation management, project management portals, digital asset management, knowledge portals, collaborative threat assessment and response, e-learning, software engineering workspaces, etc.Successfully transitioned all software development from San Francisco to Sydney while increasing sales and customer satisfaction substantially. Introduced limited outsourcing to India. Changed the strategic direction of the product to play to Vignette’s strengths in web content management after Vignette acquired Intraspect.

Led the clustering project for Vignette Collaboration 7.0, which scaled the horizontally across multiple nodes on different servers using a shared, clustered RDBMS.Improved scalability of search and indexing to 10 million documents and over one terabyte of content.Authored data analytics tools and performed data analysis in R.

Responsible for leading software engineering teams. Developed core areas of the product, such as search, social network analysis and usage analytics. Authored much of the search subsystem. Authored analytics tools and performed data analysis with R and Oracle at gigabyte scale.Intraspect was acquired by Vignette in 2003.

Responsible for the design and implementation of the next generation CAD software architecture. Co-author of the Core Technology Base (CTB), which is a software framework for computer graphics and geometric modeling applications written in C++. The CTB is a building block for ICEM Surf, a leading surface modeling application acquired by Dassault Systèmes, and ICEM CFD, a leading mesh generation application acquired by Ansys.

Responsible for software development on the Solid Modeling team for ICEM DDN, a 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) system used in automotive, aerospace, defense and consumer markets.

Wrote a diagnostic application to verify the integrity of trimmed surfaces in 3D surface models. The ICEM products at CDC became ICEM Systems.
