Responsible for profitable growth within 11 state division that includes teams in CO, NM, TX, LA, OK, AR, MO, KS, southern IL, NE, IA. Attracting/Retaining/Developing leadership and sales talent across the division, Developing relationships with The Hartford's top agents/brokers, and helping to provide solutions for efficient and profitable growth are key responsibilities.

Directly responsible for Middle Market strategy, growth, and profitability in south Texas (includes Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Waco, El Paso and surrounding areas) and Louisiana markets. Middle Market includes General Industry, Marine, Construction, Technology and Specialty General Liability. Also responsible for overall agency partner relationships, including the National Accounts (loss responsive), Small Commercial and Personal Lines market segments.

Branch leadership role responsible for Commercial and Personal Lines sales and profitability. Underwriting responsibilities in the Middle Market (Construction, Marine, General Industry, Technololgy and Special GL) and National Accounts (loss responsive programs)

Worked with 8 Field Offices located in the Central US (18 states) in a position that connected Field Sales/Underwriting teams and the Home Office Underwriting/Operations organization. Direct reports included Middle Market managers and teams in two Underwriting Centers as well as the Central Division National Accounts Sales Director. Responsibilities included talent management for both direct and indirect teams; profit management, and growth strategy development across Middle Market segments including Marine, Technology,Construction, general Middle Market, and National Accounts.

I joined The Hartford in this rotational position to learn the organization and be prepared to move into future roles in the company. Other than learning The Hartford, my responsibilities included managing operations in Oklahoma and Arkansas for Commercial and Personal lines.

In addition to role as Select Managing Director, I was appointed to newly formed position where emphasis is on bringing the value of the entire corporate franchise to agency partners. Also internal team building and education as work was underway to integrate St. Paul and Travelers people, business and cultures.

Lead the sales, underwriting and operations team in Texas for the Select Customer segment. Strategic direction, talent management, agency relationship, growth and profitability were key areas of accountability.
