Sharon Devlin is an established, professional Irish artist. Her work has been commissioned by The Citywest Hotel Dublin (where 9 pieces are in their permanent collection and are on display in their public areas), The Harcourt Inn Dublin (who acquired 5 pieces of her work) and in many private national and international collections. Her work has been exhibited in Rua Red Arts Gallery, Tallaght Community Arts Gallery, Straffan Antiques and Design Centre, The Connolly Centre and many group shows at Russborough House Wicklow.Initially training as a Montessori Teacher and a Special Needs Assistant, she saw first-hand the extraordinary power of the arts and creativity. She went on to study Art and Design, Youth Arts, Community Arts Practice and Theory and obtained a BA in Leadership and Community Development in 2014. She then went on to study Arts and Disability and Advocacy and just recently acquired her Post Graduate Level 9 in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship with Trinity College Dublin in 2021. Along with Sharon's painting and commissions practice, she works as the coordinator of Tallaght Community Arts DoubleTAKE Supported Arts Studio, and as an Arts and Advocacy through the Arts Tutor with the H.S.E , the ETB, SDC Partnership, Connections Arts Centre and the Arts Council's Creative Schools Project. With this, her new commercial website, Sharon talks of bringing her art out to "fresh new pastures of promise where the air will be kind and blushed with beginning" - quoting the great John O'Donohue.She is also looking forward to working with some of Ireland's and Europe's large businesses, hotels and organizations, assisting them with expanding their rich cultural offering to their clients and customers.Sharon uses a range of media in her work. For richer, deeper and impactful pieces, she works with oils or acrylics. For more gentle and subtle pieces, she works with watercolours. Sharon also works with mixed media in some of her sculptural pieces. She is inspired by story, folklore, Irish history and the beautiful landscapes and seascapes of Ireland.Sharon also has plans to roll out two new bespoke creative workshops: The first is A Foundation in Community Arts Practice and Theory. This is designed and delivered through a supportive lens for those who have additional needs. Co-designed by Eithne Dunne and in partnership with Tallaght Community Arts Organization.The second is a Specialized Train the Trainer Course designed and developed through a supportive lens for those with additional needs in partnership with Connections Arts Centre.
