As the founder and CEO of Maplegate Media Group, a small, special-interest publisher with a large footprint in the radio control and hobby/educational robotics communities, I have enjoyed building a company that brings creative people together to share their knowledge and love of radio control hobbies with enthusiasts and their families. We started out back in 2003 with two magazines, RC DRIVER and FLY RC and have been going strong ever since, adding Robot magazine, RC HELI PILOT and AIRSOFT INSIDER magazines and, most recently, DRONES (formerly MULTIROTOR PILOT) magazine. Our mission for all of our magazines is to provide readers with the information they need to enjoy and grow in their hobbies, from expert product reviews, technical tips and projects to event coverage and exciting features. We are very proud to be a trusted information source in the markets we serve, providing exceptional value to our readers and industry partners.My history in the radio control hobby and publishing industries dates back to 1989 when, after raising two wonderful sons, I began my career as an Advertising Account Executive with Air Age Media where I eventually became Associate Publisher and Sales Director. I was fortunate there to have the opportunity to form wonderful relationships with my clients and really enjoyed helping them grow their businesses through the exposure our publications were able to offer them. At the urging of several colleagues and with the support of an investor, I was able to found Maplegate Media Group in 2003 to offer readers and advertisers a product that expanded the possibilities for RC hobby publications. With a commitment to quality production, creative editorial, excellent distribution and producing family-friendly content, we have been able to expand from our original roots in the radio control hobby industry to offer a voice to increasingly diverse interest groups including drone enthusiasts and robotics students and hobbyists.
