As part of the Application Portfolio Management team, this role was a key component of a new team that owned and controlled the Release Management of the Application Toolkits. The Application Portfolio Management role involved accountability for identifying, packaging, deploying installing, testing and integrating applications into the Sub-Surface application toolkits. Tasks included:• Working closely with all vendors to understand timelines on new releases• Attending boot camps, demo’s, forum’s, client sessions where agreed with management to understand new software functionality.• Demonstrating new functionality of software to user groups.• Owing the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process up to the release date.• Testing and deploying applications into pre-production and then production environments as required• Aligning release times for software to fit with the “toolkit image”• Ensuring software documentation is kept current and accessible.• Ensuring the upkeep of the Definitive Software Library (DSL)• Ensuring the upkeep of the License Database.• Managing the introduction of new software releases to the Service teams.

Reporting to the Team Leader of Technical Applications, this role isresponsible for supporting a large portfolio of geotechnicalapplications used by exploration and engineering teams in the I&O.Responsibilities include portfolio management, application development,support services, maintenance of geotechnical applications software and vendor management.• Delivery of application software to staff within geotechnical disciplines• Work collaboratively with other members of the Application Support team to revise procedures, provide daily technical support, planned support & tutorial sessions with internal users• Work with geotechnical teams utilising application software working in all regions (asset/trend teams) of the companies operations• Represent company interests and requirements to vendor companies for purpose of improving applications to better meet requirements of P-C• Ensure operation of critical applications for geotechnical staff• Work collaboratively with IT Services to maintain and initiate updates to the UNIX and PC desktop environment for geotechnical applications including all facets of application maintenance and licensing• Evaluation and implementation of new technology solutions within the geotechnical applications environment• Provide a centre of excellence for the use of technical applications here appropriate• Manage the interface with software vendors to provide cost effective efficient technical environments

On site contract at Petro-Canada (via Venture)• Responsible for the service delivery and leadership of the Venture GeoScience Applications Support Group.• Ensure standards, procedures and service quality is maintained to the technical user community in accordance with the defined service level agreements.• Data archiving and retrieval and database management (in-house applications).• Responsible for monitoring and controlling disk usage for all applications and archival of unused or legacy projects as part of a ‘project life-cycle’ scheme.• Training of Junior Venture Support staff in application and data management best practice / use. • Mentoring of Petro-Canada technical G&G staff in software usage and data-flows.• Maintaining and monitoring software and application usage and working with Petro-Canada G&G support staff. • Accountable to the user groups and asset teams – performing and prioritizing work to user requests. • Liaison between Petro-Canada and Venture staff with respect to SLA requirements and improvements

On site contract at ENI-Lasmo PLC (via GTS-Geotech)• 1st line Application Support for Landmark, GeoQuest and Tigress applications on SUN Solaris, SGI and Linux both locally and through Citrix connections.• 1st line Application Support and installation of PC based E&P applications.• Prime contact / liaison for the co-ordination of Geoframe projects served via thin client technology from the ENI Lasmo data centre hosted in Milan, Italy. • Installing new software utilities & applying upgrades to existing software, plus associated alteration to the thin client / local server architecture.• Responsible for incremental, weekly and monthly backups through Solstice Backup Administrator.• Day to day Unix Systems Administration.• Responsible for plotting administration through ZEH on both SUN Solaris and PC.

On site contract at Amerada Hess (UK) Ltd (via GTS Geotech)• Undertook GeoFrame well data rationalisation project for the Brazil Team – working with staff petrophysicists to establish a new Recall based corporate data-store for cleaned and composited well logs. • 11 GeoFrame Well Master Projects containing 266 wells, with a further 16 Interpreter projects and 2 Geolog projects to be cleaned including raw log curves requiring splicing.• Use of Geoframe, Geolog and Recall database systems• Splicing of raw well log curves• Transfer of raw well data to new raw curve store. • Standardisation of log Names, log types and sources. • Standardisation of curve Mnemonics, names, and standard attributes• Standardisation of Curve units• Duplication removal of Curves• Transfer of Interpretation data, deviation data, check shots, well header information & spliced curves to new Well Master Project

On site contract at BHP Petroleum Ltd (via GTS Geotech)• Seismic 2D & 3D data loading at client sites to Landmark SeisWorks and GeoFrame IESX. • On-site application support of the Landmark OpenWorks suite.• Well data reformatting and manipulation in GeoFrame. • Proficient in both well and seismic data loading to various mainstream Geoscience applications.

• One of two senior staff employed to help with the setup and launch of a new department offering data loading and data management services. • Instrumental in marketing and advertising the department to the Oil and Gas industry. • Assigned to the GeoQuest Data Management group for 9 months at BP, through Hays IMS.• Worked with staff from GeoData Mgt UK Ltd on the conversion of SAGA Petroleum’s North Sea assets as part of the sale to Conoco UK. Responsible for the on-site project preparation and backup of 500Gb, of Geoframe Charisma project data prior to the conversion to OpenWorks / SeisWorks format.

• Joined PECC as a Trainee Support Analyst and was promoted to Support Analyst in August 1997 and to Senior Support Analyst in April 1998. • Responsibilities included the loading of seismic data to Landmark, GeoQuest IESX and Charisma workstations, as well as providing on-site support. • Worked at several oil companies, providing on-site support and the longest placement was at Amerada Hess for 2 years where responsible for seismic data management.• Long term on-site applications/technical support direct to the users including system management and data management duties. Working in multi-discipline, multi-platform environment as front line support. • Short term contract work at a multitude of client sites, including project upgrade work.
