In a second trial, compared the immune responses of calves administered chromium pellets and milk treated with phospholipase to a control group given milk replacer to analyze the nutritional benefits of chromium for milk yield and heat stress.▪ Handled 6 dairy cows with and without supervision over a 1000 sq. ft. distance between the stall and milking parlor. Collected samples from the shed and prepared them for centrifuge according to specific instructions. ▪ Collaborated with other lab members to conduct catheter placements 2 cows, which allowed the P.I. and graduate students to administer appropriate hormone treatments.▪ Precisely and accurately prepared 40 capsules of 1 gram chromium powder on a scientific scale.▪ Routinely handled 40 calves with and without supervision and in inclement weather for bottle feeding and to record body temperature.▪ Provided care for livestock by maintaining the cleanliness of barn walkways, cow stalls, and bottle-feeding equipment in a complex farm operation.
