Dr. Sharon T. Freeman is the President & CEO of Gems of Wisdom Consulting, Inc. (GWCi). Dr. Freeman leads the GWCi consulting practice in undertaking groundbreaking assignments for public and private sector organizations to help them strategize on “how to” optimize policies, procedures, systems, processes, practices by answering the seven most important “W” interrogatory questions: (what, why, where, when, which, whether, who, and How (7W+H). Dr. Freeman's gems of wisdom are relied upon in her analytical methods that include looking "between" things and not just "at" things in order to fully identify the role of that all pillars in the ecosystem play in the problem and solution of phenomena. Having worked in 120+ countries, having lived and worked in Hong Kong for 12 years, including a stint in the Diplomatic Services when serving as the Regional Director for Asia of (now named) US Trade Development Agency, having served as a Chief Compliance Office of a leading USAID firm, and having worked for most international development Banks; many US federal government agencies; and for many important humanitarian and development agencies, Dr. Freeman has over 30 years of unprecedented international experience and deep academic training in Operations Research and other data-informed disciplines to draw on in sharing gems of wisdom. Dr. Freeman currently serves as an Advisor to the US Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Representative on trade policy matters, a position to which she has been reappointed every three years since 1991. Dr. Freeman is considered one of America's leading experts on all facets of trade. Dr. Freeman is a prolific author of 37 books that explain "how" things work--in regulatory compliance, trade, the environment, leadership, and about how USG agencies work. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences (Walden) and graduate and undergraduate degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University. She possesses a broad range of quantitative (statistics, operations research, financing) and qualitative skills (surveying, focus groups, project evaluation) of analysis and is a Certified Online Instructor (University of California, Irvine, 2020), and Certified in Entrepreneurship (Wharton, U. of Pennsylvania, 2020).
