As the Founder and CEO of Soup Sisters, a non-profit social enterprise, I have been leading a national movement of providing comfort to women, children, and youth in crisis through the making, sharing, and donating of soup since 2009. With over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, I have a passion for creating positive social impact and empowering communities to support those in need. I have an inherent belief in the power of simple solutions and the ability to adapt as needed. It's through this flexibility that we've been able to make a difference in the lives of millions.At soup-making events in 27 cities pre-pandemic, groups gathered to cook up these chef-inspired recipes, knowing they were making a direct impact in someone’s life. That is the simplicity of Soup Sisters vision: to give people a way to give back to their community by doing something tangible - getting into the kitchen, spending a night with friends, rolling up their sleeves and creating something heartwarming, heartfelt and with it a message of support.However, as the world grappled with the unforeseen challenges of 2020, our organization swiftly adapted. In the wake of the pandemic's upheaval, we courageously transformed our operational model. March of that year marked a pivotal moment as Soup Sisters evolved into Canada's first Soup Bank. This innovative shift ensured a continuous flow of soup to social agencies spanning the entire nation. The soup's sustenance remained undeterred, fostering a lifeline of nourishment when it was needed most.Thanks to Lineage Logistics we've sustained our operations for agencies across the nation throughout these challenging years.My personal commitment has been unwavering, as Soup Sisters continues to share the warmth and kindness encapsulated in a simple bowl of soup. The mission is clear: to nurture and nourish communities impacted by food insecurity with wholesome and delicious soup. With each hug in a bowl delivered, we ladle out a measure of comfort, care, and human connection.
