I've loved telling stories since I first learned to talk - and listening to them too. My passion for words saw me self-publish* my first book when I was six years old (*a handwritten, stapled booklet on the topic of 'Animals' which included the spurious claim that elephants are scared of mice - please note, my fact checking skills have improved since then). Perhaps I was ahead of the times, as my most recent book was self-published too.My love of words, interest in people and curiosity about the world led me to start off my career in journalism, working on regional newspapers and in magazine and book publishing. I then moved into the world of PR and marketing, where I now love to tell the story of the organisations and people I work with. After many years heading up large corporate communication teams, I decided to work for myself and now offer freelance services on a retainer or project by project basis. I work with a range of organisations of all sizes, from start ups to global NGOs, and feel privileged to have worked with some amazing people. As well as extensive experience in public and third sector bodies, I’ve enjoyed working with organisations and entrepreuners in the tech and digital sectors.Being freelance gives me the flexibility to offer a variety of skills from strategic planning and management, to delivery of essentials such as copy and content.
