Sharon has over 35 years of operational and leadership roles in start-up projects/offices to promote economic and business development, innovation and entrepreneurship. Sharon completed her three-year contract position as Manager, Corporate Services with CNA-NL's international campus in Qatar (CNA-Q) to accept the position of Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Workforce Innovation Centre. Sharon worked for over ten years with CNA-NL, eight years as Business Development Coordinator on the Contract Training and Continuing Education's provincial team, and two years in industry liaison and committee leadership roles in the college's Office of Applied Research and Innovation with Springboard Atlantic. Sharon's earlier experiences in her career include leadership roles with Nati, Fortis Education Foundation, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Economic Recovery Advisory Board and Advisory Council on the Economy; business consulting with a variety of local community, municipal and educational organizations; administrative roles with Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and the provincial government's Royal Commission on Forest Protection and Management; and board of director roles with JA, the Atlantic Province's Economic Council, Tree Canada Foundation, Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade, Humber Community YMCA, Humber River Valley Condo Corporation, and the Corner Brook Port Corporation. Sharon holds a B.A. Honors Business Administration Degree (HBA) from the University of Western Ontario (renamed Western University). Prior to leaving Qatar, she was invited to be an Associate Editor for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Springer Book Series.
