From leaving college I have always been employed and I’ve worked hard for over 20 years gathering experience and enhancing my knowledge. In 1999 I joined Compass Group as a Data Input Clerk. Once my temporary contract had finished I was offered a position as a Telephone Consultant for the in-house agency Cataforce. After 9 years my final job title was Administration Manager. For my penultimate year I assisted with the development and integration of a new computer system and sadly left this role in 2009 when the office moved to Birmingham. My next big step up the ladder was joining Buckinghamshire County Council where I have just celebrated 10 years! I begun my career working in the Legal department for 6 years, where I worked alongside many solicitors. This was a rewarding and also demanding role.To progress my career I was offered a position as a Project Support Officer. The areas I supported for the council were the Innovation and commercialisation team and the Asset Management team. It was exciting working with a innovative team and looking at new ways of working. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of property and finance and it was a no brainer to change the path of my career again when I was offered a full time position with the asset management team. I successfully recovered just under £500k of aged debt which had been outstanding on the system prior to my joining and Per annum I collect over £30m income for the Council. I was also runner up in the Ambitious award category for the council's workplace hero initiative for 2017. Which was a huge achievement in my career.Buckinghamshire has just gone through a huge change and 4 District Councils have now been merged under 1 council. I assisted with the budgets to ensure the Council kept within budget and worked with all project leads to compile their individual implementation workstream budgets and to train the district employees on SAP ERP.My role has now reverted back to my previous position but now I have 4 times the amount of customers and 4 times the amount of work. It is hard and demanding but every day is different.
