Was a Member Mayoral Committee, (MMC) Economic Development , City of Johannesburg. Core objectives, job creation, inward investment, development of the inner City and achieve a target of a 5% GDP Growth for the City. Entities and Departments include the Johannesburg Property Company, Joburg Market, Broadband and Tourism. Until recently I was also a Director of the African Bureau of Conventions. This including writing national and international business strategies, not only to South Africa, but Southern Africa.I have been in the leisure and business tourism industry for many years, both in Durban and Johannesburg. I was General Manager of Durban Tourism for many years, and launched the Durban Convention Bureau, prior to the opening of the ICC Durban.I have vast experience in writing both leisure and business tourism strategies, for destinations and products and have successfully implemented these strategies for both the corporate and government sectors.I have had the pleasure of being part of the bidding and implementation team for South Africa's largest events, CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of State), NAM (Non Aligned Movement), 13th International Aids Conference (13 000 delegates) and the City of Annecy's final bid activation for the hosting of the 2018 IOC Winter Olympics.It was a great privilage to be appointed by the City of Durban to manage the City related events and infrastructure of the United Nations COP17 which was hosted in Durban, and attracted close to 30 000 visitors.Specialties: Economic development and tourismThe strategic development of short, medium and long terms business strategies.
