I am an ex-Local Government Finance Manager, I worked for local government for 19 years before moving into the private sector 18 years ago.I am very proud that Wrexham Lager has such a strong Corporate Social Responsibility policy and has invested in my role as Community Projects Manager.One of Wrexham Lager’s community projects, set up in 2021, is The F Jones Initiative. This project is focused on Wrexham, it’s people, communities and local independent businesses and organisations.We run an annual ‘Wrexham Recognition Award Competition’ with cash and voucher prizes, donated by local businesses, culminating in an awards evening at the end of the 12 month competition. Every month we highlight 2 individual people and a local organisation in Wrexham.The F Jones Initiative is an unincorporated association, with a board of members,who meet every three months to choose the monthly winners. We are also lucky to have guest judges and hosts for our awards evening, Sian Lloyd and Humphrey Ker, on board with us.As Wrexham Lager’s Community Projects Manager, I work regularly with other local organisations such as Coleg Cambria, Careers Wales, Wrexham AFC, and our chosen local charities. We support other local initiatives, the local hospitality sector, tourism, and other non-profit making organisations in Wrexham, the RWF, and also collaborate with many local businesses on a variety of projects, prioritising the use of local expertise.Born and bred in Wrexham, I am passionate about supporting and engaging with our local community. At Wrexham Lager we are always looking at ways we can work with local people and organisations, the door is always open for a conversation.
