This software was designed to include programmable PID loop constants stored in EEPROM for adaptability to antennas with physical mass and weight distribution differences. This software has been deployed in numerous antenna pedestals over the past 8 years and has not required any re-work to this day. Developed an RF filter and blanking system which included real-time communication with external subsystems, and a GUI for stand-alone testing. This effort was completed under IRAD. Interfaced daily with System Engineers to develop reasonable requirements. Carefully designed object-oriented classes and interfaces for ease of functional expandability and adaptability. The stand-alone GUI continues to be invaluable for unit testing and system integration. The software was successfully integrated into a system with minimal re-work for new requirements.Developed navigational data simulators for multiple platforms, each requiring unique sets of 1553B or ARINC messages. These simulators help ensure seamless integration with external equipment, and to expose interface errors early in the system integration phase.Analyzed and improved upon a precision direction finding algorithm using input from a spinning antenna, resulting in increased accuracy and dependability over an array of signal types. Over the years, this algorithm has been ported to all of the company’s products and has helped to bring in more contracts.
