After many months and interviews I got an interview for Administration Officer for AVSEC. 3 panel interview process and so nervous that my knees were hitting the bottom of the desk. But I answered all questions clear and quick. I knew the job inside out and felt very comfortable in this role from the description. Still wasnt sure if it was mine as there was a big list to choose from. 1 week later I got the call that the Admin role was mine and I could start in June. I was so happy and hardly could believe what the voice down the phone was saying that I can start work. Its now 6 Sept 2013 and I enjoy each day at the office and the people here are fabulous. Waiting for the bad part of the job to begin but it hasnt yet. So many new challenges to do and I am learning so much. March 2014 and it keeps getting better with this job. I am learning alot about passenger security. Everyone is great to me as I reach my 9 years in this fabulous role. Yes I could move up in my career but I am happy to be the welcoming face at reception. My training manager and security tech manager are both terrific and keep me on my toes with new courses and new security equipment each day/month. I am not bored doing this at all and just so excited to go to work except when its cold or wet. I feel happy at work because it never gets dull. I am really grateful that I was chosen and I am doing ok. 28 May 2014 still enjoying this job and the team. Moved closer to work it only takes 30mins on a good day instead of 1.5 hours. Its great working along side the trainers and organizing the courses. I am happy in my position and no 2 days are the same. Very lucky to have 2 great guys close by Grant and Dave. Best response to my PDR for 2019, 2020 2021 and 2022 was a very stressful challenging years of many changes and Covid alerts. Got my own positive test Dec 2022. Still challenging with deadlines but doing my best. Grant and Dave both left. 2023 is full on with new recruits & ICAO. OMG 10yrs already.
