•Oversees the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department to include staff interviews, employment decision, orientation, performance evaluations, employee training and development, as well as inventory, equipment, and instrument issues.•Ensures compliance with regulatory and licensing agencies and ensures departmental services provided are appropriate to the scope and level of care for the patients served. •Ensures daily operations function within the budget: Routinely Monitors Salaries, Wages, and Benefits in conjunction with the Respiratory Therapy Hours Per Patient Day, safely flexing personnel when appropriate.•Performs periodic review of departmental billing practices and performs routine financial audits in order to ensure adequate billing; educating personnel regarding billing & data entry, as appropriate. •Ensures ongoing Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) of departmental services in coordination with Quality Management assisting with routine data collection and reporting quality metrics.•Ensures regulatory compliance regarding all aspects of the Safety Officer Role and oversees all Safety Officer Functions including but not limited to the following: EOC Manual updates, Safety meetings, Safety Rounds, orientation and training, regulatory compliance and survey readiness.•Ensures regulatory compliance regarding all aspects of the Lab Manager Role and oversees all moderate complexity laboratory functions as specified in the lab manual for point of care testing.•Ensures laboratory practice and documentation meets the requirements set forth by CMS, COLA, and State regulatory agencies.

• Administrates over department electronic documentation system• Administrates over department staffing, scheduling, time and attendance, and payroll to maintain acceptable therapy completion rates and quality standards and to ensure appropriate staffing and salary expenses within the budget system• Assists with management of financial resources for Respiratory Care to include capital and supply budget• Fosters positive physician relations and works collaboratively with physicians to identify expectations• Actively works with Medical Director, Nursing Services, and Medical Staff to develop patient care plans• Assists with the development and monitoring of departmental clinical and organizational objectives including details of cost/benefits, required resources, and objectives for achievement• Participates with the establishment of well-defined clinical quality and safety program to ensure that regulatory, credentialing, and licensing requirements, as specified by various agencies, are in compliance for Respiratory Care• Recommends development of new departmental services• Participates in the formulation and refinement of clinical policies and procedures that are age appropriate and evidenced based for optimal outcomes• Monitors clinical protocols as related to physician ordering practices and staffing compliance for providing age specific services in a competent manner• Coordinates student preceptor for surrounding universities and colleges• Performs all clinical and technical therapeutic services
