About Sharon Walker

I have had the pleasure of working with a wide array of people at varying points in their life. I have worked with individuals, families,staff and communities affected by oppression. I have provided clinical support to: -children and families affected by trauma & attachment disruptions-children who are often dysregulated resulting in struggles in school, home and the community -children and families affected by multiple transitions & crisis-those engaged in, or affected by, the criminal justice system (adult, youth, federal and provincial)- "street involved" youth-high conflict families - those wrestling with addictions and mental health challenges-those reaching out for connections in ways that are often labelled as "behavioural- those affected by the social determinants of health including poverty,racialized minorities, newcomers-families and individuals who have experienced grief, loss and major life events I work from a relationally focused lens based on a collaborative anti-oppressive approach. I have experience working from a narrative, solution focused,brief intervention approach, as well as, extensive experience working with a cognitive behavioural approach. I always work from a strength based client centred, family centred, holistic approach being mindful of the systematic impacts and intersections.
