Over eighteen years of experience as a Counseling Psychologist (Substance Abuse) worked as a member of the clinical staff at the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP). Three years’ experience as a Department of Defense Suicide Prevention Program Manager and Prevention Specialist. Possess specialized experience conducting complex psychological treatment and consultation services to alcohol and drug dependent clients who suffer from co-occurring or unusual disorders while in initial treatment, and formulating treatment plans. Over 18 years post- license experience working with active duty military, veterans, families and DOD Civilians in the areas of substance abuse, mental health, trauma and relationships. Conducted psychological clinical assessments; employing diagnostic interviewing, psychometric assessment measures, and behavioral assessment and observation methods to accurately evaluate patients. Developed clear case conceptualizations for patients using coherent empirically supported theoretical formulations in order to communicate to patients in an easily identifiable manner.Provided psychological counseling/treatment/consultation services for the most complex and difficult of the Army Substance Abuse Cases (ASAP) cases.Developed and monitored treatment goals throughout therapy in collaboration with the patient, and appropriately assessed treatment outcome.
