Currently working on tools for Natural Language Processing annotation....providing the data to the various teams that build the models used in the Natural Language applications you find in the mobile space (i.e. your phone). I am leading a worldwide team of developers working in a variety of languages (Java, Python, Ruby on Rails), to support our data creation, storage, visualization needs. We loosely follow a TDD methodology, and are catching up on technical debt from older resources. The design of our internal system is a micro-architecture, allowing us to more easily deploy and add new functionality. My responsibilities include (in no particular order): documentation, coding (all languages), code review, mentoring junior developers, design (database and architecture), deployment (and all other IT related pieces with supporting an internal production environment), monitoring, and dashboard development.

Currently working on tools for Natural Language Processing annotation....providing the data to the various teams that build the models used in the Natural Language applications you find in the mobile space (i.e. your phone).I am supporting an existing toolset written in Python (scripts and Django framework) and Javascript/HTML, and looking to merge the functionality into another toolset written in Ruby on Rails. Most of the tools have not been documented well, so I am documenting and developing safe procedures/practices for on-going support, maintenance and development for both sets of tools.

Initially started as a consultant, became a full-time employee a few months later. I am on a small team providing support monitoring and troubleshooting tools and technologies to the support desk. Our support desk works with the Liquidnet Membership whenever there is a problem called in, or proactively found/fixed. The tools are written in a variety of technologies: Java, C++, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Python, and Perl, accessing an Oracle database, running in Windows and Linux environments.Currently most of my work is developing Eclipse-based plugins for a tool used by our support team to help identify and troubleshoot problems in the system and to investigate calls from the traders accessing our trading system. Some of my work includes maintaining the legacy systems I initially worked on when coming to Liquidnet. Including an ASP.NET web application, and the backend written in C# and Java.

Worked with the IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) team on a new product to protect enterprise systems from intrusions, viruses, etc. Worked as a senior developer on the team, working on all aspects of the design and architecture of a new product. As a remote employee working with not only people in the main office (Atlanta), and throughout the world.

Worked on a variety of speech and text processing related products and SDKs including:* IBM VoiceType for OS/2* IBM MedSpeak/Radiology* IBM MedSpeak/Pathology* IBM MedSpeak SDK* IBM WebSphere Voice Server Natural Language Understanding* IBM WebSphere Voice Toolkit* IBM Embedded and Multimodal Toolkit. Experienced all aspects of the development process from multiple perspectives (tester, technical support lead, help desk lead, developer and team lead). Significant customer facing experience, with both technical and marketing personnel. Innovative developer with ability to create solutions that are both scalable and maintainable. Experience on teams as small as one or as large as 20. Teaming and collaboration strengths with the willingness to mentor junior team members.

Worked on the NYC FAIRTAX project with Andersen Consulting (AMS was a sub-contractor for the project). Developed DB2 & COBOL in both batch and live environments on an IBM mainframe. Worked on complex DB2 queries ensuring performance and accuracy of the data. As a non-Andersen employee, moved into a team leadership role for the billing and refunds portion of the project.
