The small island of St. Kitts has many animals in need of rescue; hungry, injured, and in desperate need of help. Saving Animals From Emergency is an organization that provides just that. We get called in to come to their rescue and not only provide them with the help they need, but also help them find a loving home. My responsibilities included maintaining all official documents and records, organizing and coordinating adoptions, and managing an emergency response team. Adopting from S.A.F.E is a multistage process of an application, interview, and after approval, signing an adoption contract. This is to ensure our animals are adopted into the most appropriate homes. S.A.F.E. has a 24/7/365 emergency hotline for animals on St. Kitts. There are three teams managed by the head officers (President, Vice President, Care Coordinator) that respond to each call, assess the animal, and bring them in to the veterinary hospital for treatment.
