About Sharon Hanlon Am

After more than 20 years as a successful public and private sector executive manager with a strong track record for actively contributing to business strategy and corporate planning, followed by 10 years running my own specialist consultancy, I have chosen to dedicate my time since late 2011 to supporting the efforts of Crime Stoppers as a Board Director – locally, nationally, and internationally.I came into the Crime Stoppers sphere well-versed in corporate governance having served for more than a decade as an independent board director for number of not-for-profits and mutuals that operated in the environmental, financial, or public health and safety space. My qualifications, personal experience and expertise span corporate governance; public policy development and advocacy; strategic communications; government, key stakeholder and media relations; issues identification and management; business development; campaign and events development and execution; and sponsorship management.I am a committed and passionate advocate for Crime Stoppers. I firmly believe in its fundamental premise that individual citizens can have a real impact on reducing crime and criminal activity – that each and every one of us can contribute to making our communities and, in turn, our world safer.I am privileged to represent Crime Stoppers in the following capacities:* President and Chairman of the Board, Crime Stoppers International – appointed a Director in July 2016, and elected the corporation's first woman President in November 2018* Deputy Chairman, Crime Stoppers Australia Ltd – initially appointed a Director and elected Company Secretary in November 2015, then elected Deputy Chair in May 2017; and* Chairman, Crime Stoppers South Australia Inc – initially appointed a Director in October 2011 and elected Chair in November 2013.
