Director, Community Enrichment
CurrentAs Director of Community Enrichment, I manage an amazing team who support and advocate for residents at Menno Place. The Life Enrichment Coordinators are a "concierge" service for residents and families providing support to navigate the decisions to move to Menno Place as well as making the logistics feel easy. The Life Enrichment program was created by myself and visionary team members in 2017 to ensure that residents and their families were confident who will welcome them, address ongoing needs and ensure that their parting from Menno Place is meaningful.The Manager of Community Enrichment oversees Independent and Supportive Living for 314 apartment suites. In addition, he provides supports that enrich the lives of seniors, including the use of innovative technology to better the lives of our residents. The Life Enrichment team are the first face of Menno Place and provide customer service to families, visitors and the public. The Recreation Team provide therapeutic recreation activities geared to bring seniors who live with cognitive decline into relationships, social activities and joy in their day-to-day lives. The rehabilitation team provides occupational therapy, physical therapy and rehabilitation programs for long-term care and our convalescent residents. The Recreation Team recently achieved Music Care Certification (2024) - the first long-term care home in Canada to earn this distinction.The Chaplain team enrich the lives of residents and their loved ones through spiritual care and support at end-of-life. The Communications Team is a high-capacity team that supports the communication and public relation needs of our Campus of Care. The Advancement Team creates and sustains donor-relations, giving programs and relationship-building to encourage members of our community and beyond to invest their time and financial resources in improving the quality of life for elderly seniors on the Menno Place campus of care.
