Intake And Assessment Worker - Lived Experience
Business Owner
My own personal journey of adversity which encompassed childhood domestic and family violence/abuse as well as sexual and emotional abuse, relationship breakdown, narcissistic abuse as well as near homelessness and financial hardship, which resulted in being triggered and enter into survival mode.Survival Mode is the toxic mentality that leads you to attack, retreat or freeze during stressful times rather than embrace and convey your thoughts and feelings purposefully.Survival mode for me looked like drinking and partying too hard...not being the best parent my children deserved, avoiding financial responsibilities such as; not opening bank statements or bills, not keeping track of my finances. It was through experiencing an traumatic breakdown I started the healing journey, bringing all the unhealed parts of myself into alignment...Mind you... this is also a work in progress Being self-reflective and identifying the unhealed parts of myself, has enabled enormous post-traumatic growth. This has facilitated unique insights to provide, empathy and compassion to those that trying to cut through the noise and connect with their inner-self.My vision for the future is to empower women from diverse backgrounds; to gain the confidence and belief that Anything is Possible and they CAN achieve the life they so desire. In addition, I bravely share my lived experience of the impact of childhood domestic violence and abuse had on my own life and how I went from victim-survivor to thriving survivor
