My role as administrator manager was to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the administrative side of the store’s business, communicating with colleagues/management in a busy city centre megastore. I was promoted to supervisor and then to Deputy Manager, from this I gained more responsibility and knowledge of the day to day running of a high turnover store, which included administrative duties such as payroll, rotas, daily/weekly targets, stock control, hiring staff, managing my own team of 20 plus staff and carrying out inductions training, appraisals as well as disciplinary procedures.A key part of the role was to encourage and motivate staff to maintain standards achieve targets and provide good customer service. I was given the opportunity to manage at other stores and participate in new store openings; these stores included New Street Birmingham (for refurbishment), Merry Hill, Telford, Bluewater Kent and Bullring Birmingham. I was an effective and objective manager and I fully understood the roles of each of my team members. I earned the trust of my superiors and kept the respect of those I managed.
