About Sharon Bean

Ms. Bean is a governance and learning expert with 25 years of experience specializing in systems strengthening and performance improvement with multilateral and bilateral organizations. Ms. Bean led stabilization efforts for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Haiti and later joined USAID as Director of the Office of Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance. Following her tenure in Haiti, Ms. Bean worked in the Sahel with USAID and AFRICOM where she assessed and scaled governance and stabilization programming convening stakeholders from across the interagency and the region to facilitate cross-programmatic learning. Ms. Bean then turned her governance experience to strengthen leadership, management, and performance improvement of the global staff of multilateral organizations and their implementing partners. As a master facilitator and instructional designer, she has developed and led dozens of learning events focusing on strategic planning, project and activity design, team building, management, and leadership development.
